Penguicon 2011
I think I will start this one off with a nod to another convention. Since I've never blogged about cons before I feel I should start at the beginning. Once upon a time the Narfster was a noob. He had been to many game conventions but never to a Sci-Fi Con. My good Friend Blasted Bill Putt had been trying to drag me along for years but Cons always seemed to fall on weekends when I had National Guard drill. Eventually though my time in the military was at an end and I had no more excuses. My first con was actually ConFusion 2004. It was a blast and I was hooked. Bill then suggested I also attend Penguicon so I did. That event was equally super duper. I have been going to these cons ever since and even though I have occasionally missed one or the other, I have always made it to at least one each year. I have also checked out a handful of other cons over the years but I think it's fair to say that the Fusion and the Penguin are my regulars.
Another reason that Blasted Bill Putt is relevant to this conversation is that he is also the one who introduced me to the world of dementia music. I remember vividly how we were banned from his dorm room for hours each Sunday (way back in the mid 90's) so he could bask in and tape the Dr. Demento Show. (He denies this but we all know the truth. rofl)
If it weren't for Bill I would never have heard of the wonderful artists you are about to hear so thanks again Mr. Putt and without further ado I bring you the music track from Penguicon 2011. (I will also have other Penguicon videos uploaded soon. I just chose to do the music ones first)

Interviews with music artists.
I managed to corner a couple of the artists over the weekend and they were gracious enough to take a few minutes to talk to me about their music and the con. Thanks Power Salad and The Great Luke Ski. You guys are awesome and kind. Click the below images to be magically transported to the videos of the interviews.
